The Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed will arrive in Stockholm, Sweden, to participate in the World Water Week and hold bilateral meetings with senior Government officials.

Monday, 27 August 

In the morning, the Security Council will be briefed on the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

In Geneva, at 10:00 a.m. in Room III, there will be a press conference by the Independent International Fact-finding Mission on Myanmar on the publication of its final written report on alleged human rights violations committed in Myanmar. The speakers will be: Mr. Marzuki Darusman, Chairperson, Independent International Fact-finding Mission on Myanmar, Ms. Radhika Coomaraswamy, Member of the Independent International Fact-finding Mission on Myanmar and Mr. Christopher Sidoti, Member of the Independent International Fact-finding Mission on Myanmar.

At 11:00 a.m. in Press Room 1, the UN Refuge Agency (UNHCR), will have a press briefing on its 2018 Refugee Education Report. The speaker will be Ita Sheehy, Senior Education Advisor, Division of Resilience and Solutions, UNHCR.

Tuesday, 28 August

The Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed will be in Copenhagen, Denmark for further discussions with senior Government officials and other stakeholders on the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, the repositioning of the UN development system and other issues of mutual interest.

In the morning, the Security Council will be briefed and hold consultations on the Middle East (Syria).

In the afternoon, the Security Council will be briefed on Myanmar.

In Geneva, at 9:00 a.m. in Room III, there will be a press briefing by the Group of Eminent Experts on Yemen, appointed by the UN Human Rights Council, on the publication of its report on the establishment of facts and circumstances surrounding alleged violations and abuses committed by all parties to the conflict in Yemen since September 2014. The report will be shared with the UN Geneva press corps prior to its release and will remain under strict embargo until 9:00 a.m. on 28 August. The speakers will be Kamel Jendoubi, Chairperson of the Group of Eminent Experts on Yemen and Charles Garraway, Group of Eminent Experts on Yemen.

Wednesday, 29 August

Today is the International Day against Nuclear Tests

The Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed will be in Oslo, Norway, for discussions with senior Government officials and other stakeholders on the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, the repositioning of the UN development system and other issues of mutual interest.

In the morning, the Security Council will hold an open debate on the maintenance of international peace and security: Mediation and settlement of disputes.

At 1:15 p.m. in Conference Room 12, there will be a briefing on the Intergovernmental Conference on an international legally binding instrument under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction. Thursday, 30 August

Today is the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances 

In the morning, the Security Council will be briefed on and hold consultations on the United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Guinea-Bissau (UNIOGBIS). It is also expected to adopt a resolution on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

In the afternoon, the Security Council will hold consultations on the 1718 Committee.

In Geneva, at 10:00 a.m. in Room III, the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, UNIDIR, will hold a press briefing on the Cluster Munition Monitor 2018 Report Launch. The speakers will be Dr Renata Dwan, Director, UNIDIR, Ms. Mary Wareham, Advocacy Director, Arms Division, Human Rights Watch and ban policy editor for Cluster Munition Monitor 2018, Ms. Amelie Chayer, ICBL-CMC, government liaison and policy manager, Mr. Loren Persi, ICBL-CMC, casualties and victim assistance editor for Cluster Munition Monitor 2018, and Mr. Jeff Abramson, Final Editor and Program Manager, Landmine and Cluster Munition Monitor.
