Sunday, 1 July

The Secretary-General will be in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

In Nouakchott, Mauritania, the Deputy Secretary-General will participate in the 31st African Union Summit.

Monday, 2 July

The Secretary-General will be in Cox’s Bazar as part of a joint trip with the President of the World Bank, Jim Kim. They will also be accompanied by the High Commissioner for Refugees and the Executive Director of UNFPA.

At 10:00 a.m. in the Trusteeship Council Chamber, the 105th plenary meeting on the responsibility to protect and the prevention of genocide war crimes ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity will take place.

At 2:00 p.m., in S-237, there will be a press briefing by Ambassador Olof Skoog, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the month of July.

At 3:00 p.m. in Conference Room 4, there will be a briefing on the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1373 concerning counter-terrorism.

In Geneva, the 56th Graduate Study Programme will be held at the Palais des Nations from 2 to 13 July 2017. It will comprise lectures given by senior members of the United Nations and the Geneva-based specialized agencies.

Tuesday, 3 July

 The Secretary-General is expected to be back in New York this evening.

The Deputy Secretary-General will begin a trip to South Sudan, Chad and Niger, in a joint visit with the African Union and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Margot Wallström.

In South Sudan today and tomorrow, the Deputy Secretary-General will have bilateral meetings with authorities in Juba. She will visit a protection of civilians site, a hospital that treats victims of gender-based violence and community resilience programmes. She will hold meetings with women’s leaders, religious leaders and civil society groups, among others.

In Geneva, at 10:00 a.m. in Room III, UNICEF will hold a briefing on the situation of Yemeni children following June 25-28 mission to Sana'a and Aden. The speaker will be UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta H. Fore.

Wednesday, 4 July

Today is an official holiday for UN Headquarters in New York. The premises will be closed.

Thursday, 5 July

In Chad, for the next two days, the Deputy Secretary-General will have bilateral meetings with authorities in N’Djamena. She will travel to a project site to meet with communities adapting to climate change and meet with religious, youth and women’s groups.

Friday, 6 July

There are no events scheduled for today.
