At 1:15 p.m. in Conference Room 5, there will be a briefing on the “Physical Structure of the Internet” on the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, co-organized by the Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, ICANN. 

Tuesday, 1 May 

At 10:00 a.m. in the Economic and Social Council Chamber, the 2018 ECOSOC Integration Segment will begin and will continue until Thursday. The theme is “Innovative communities: leveraging technology and innovation to build sustainable and resilient societies”, and the event will bring together Member States, businesses, civil society and academia to assess the status of integration and coherence of actions towards achieving the 2030 Agenda. The proceedings will feed into the 2018 ECOSOC High-Level Segment and the 2018 High-Level Political Forum. The Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Ms. Bintou Keita, will be the guest at the Noon Briefing. She will brief reporters on her recent visit to South Sudan and Ethiopia. 

Wednesday, 2 May 

Today is World Tuna Day. 

At 10:00 a.m. in Conference Room E, there will be an event entitled “Empowering Women in the Peace Process” co-organized by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the Permanent Mission of Sweden and the Columbia Law School. 

In Lisbon, Portugal, the Sustainable Energy for All Forum begins today bringing together leaders from government, business, civil society and international organizations. 

At 11:00 a.m. in Conference Room 5, there will be an informal mission briefing in advance of the Third United Nations High-Level Meeting on Non-communicable Diseases co-organized by the Permanent Missions of Brazil, Denmark, Jamaica and the Russia Federation, and WHO in collaboration with the NCD Alliance. 

Thursday, 3 May 

Today is World Press Freedom Day. 

At 10 a.m. in Conference Room 1, the President of the General Assembly will deliver remarks at the high-level segment of World Press Freedom Day. 

Also at 10:00 a.m., in Conference Room 6, there will be a panel discussion entitled “From News Literacy to ‘Newsgames’: Conversations Celebrating World Press Freedom Day” organized by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). 

At 12:30 p.m., in S-237, there will be a briefing by the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations on the work of Caritas Internationalis and Faith Based Organizations in addressing the needs of refugees and migrants. Speakers will include: Mr. Luis Cardinal Tagle, President of Caritas Internationalis, along with Archbishop Bernardito Auza. 

At 1:15 p.m. in Conference Room 4, there will be an event entitled “Sharing the Journey of Migrants and Refugees: An Interfaith Perspective on the Global Compacts” co-organized by the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See and Caritas Internationalis. 

In Geneva, at 11:00 a.m. in Room XXV, the UNESCO Geneva Liaison Office and the United Nations Information Service, with the support of co-sponsoring Member States will have a panel discussion on the occasion of the 2018 World Press Freedom Day. 

Friday, 4 May 

At 10 a.m. in the Trusteeship Council Chamber, the President of the General Assembly will holdinformal interactive dialogues with candidates for the position of the President of the seventy-third session of the General Assembly.
