Resolution A film by Marika GriehselTo mark the International Day of UN Peacekeepers the United Nations in Brussels in partnership with the Goethe Institute organized a screening of a new film on efforts to put sexual violence in conflict on the top of the Security Council´s agenda.

The film “Resolution” focuses on the efforts of Margot Wallström, UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, to raise the issue of rape being used as a strategic weapon of war to the top of the agenda at the UN Security Council and thereby make the plight of the women an international peace and security issue.

The film´s title “Resolution” refers to the efforts of Wallström to develop and push through UN Security Council Resolution 1960, which provides the UN with the powers to hunt down and prosecute the perpetrators of sexual violence and end the cycle of impunity.
