What: Presentation of the new UNCTAD 2013 report on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) entitled "Growth with employment for inclusive and sustainable development"

Predicting that by 2020 the labour market in the 49 LDCs will have grown with some130 million people, UNCTAD economists analyse in this report the links between economic growth and employment, and make recommendations for a series of appropriate measures for the acceleration of job creation.

The report is particularly relevant also in light of the current affairs at the gates of the EU. If the international community does not act, the tragedies like those of Lampedusa will continue to multiply.
