A delegation from the General People’s Committee for Health and the Environment of the Great Jamahiriya met officials from the Ministry of Health, Elderly and Community Care in Malta on the 2 and 3 August 2007.
The scope of this mission was to foster cooperation and strengthen dialogue between the institutions working on public health, communicable disease and pandemic preparedness.
Training health care professionals and sharing of expertise in areas such as family medicine were also discussed.
This visit continues to build on the success of Malta’s participation in the Benghazi Action Plan in 2006, where Maltese doctors and paramedics trained Libyan health care professionals in the specialised field of HIV/AIDS.
