2011 Citizen Ambassadors Contest

citizenThe United Nations asked you to use your voice as a global citizen to tell world leaders in a short video what you think needs to be done to make this world a better and safer place.

The campaign was part of a series of initiatives launched by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, which seek to utilize the power of the Internet and social networking to engage a new generation of world citizens in the importance of international diplomacy.

The United Nations Department of Public Information, in partnership with the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), ran the 3rd annual Citizen Ambassadors video contest from 8 August 2011, to 8 September 2011.

OSCE Photo Contest 2011

oscewinnerThe contest invited photographers, both professional and amateur, to submit up to three photos illustrating the importance of development of sustainable energy and transport.

Finding environmentally-friendly ways to produce energy, and transport goods and people, is crucial in safeguarding our future. The contest organized by the 2011 Lithuanian Chairmanship of the OSCE and the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities, in May–July, encouraged professional and amateur photographers to demonstrate their visions of the development of sustainable energy and transport—the theme of the 19th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum held in Prague on 14-16 September 2011.

A Logo for Human Rights, design competition

hrlogowinnerThe competition aimed to create a Human Rights logo “by people for people”.

The entry by Serbian designer Predrag Stakic was announced as the winner of the competition.

You can download different formats of the human rights logo as well as all kinds of related material. The logo and all the materials are open source products, which means they are free to be used by everyone, for the promotion and protection of human rights.
