But quality is compromised in many countries that can't get enough teachers into classrooms. Why the global teacher shortage is a setback for all development efforts.

The below infographic was produced as part of World Teachers’ Day, held annually on 5 October to celebrate the essential role of teachers in providing quality education at all levels.
