4th European Road Safety Day

novice driversThe next European Road Safety Day will be held in Nicosia (Cyprus) on 25 July. The conference is being organized by the European Commission, the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union (Ministry of Communications and Works) and the Cyprus Youth Organisation for Road Safety, REACTION.

The event will focus on the 'Active Involvement of Youth in Road Safety' as its primary theme and will offer a range of informational and interactive presentations, workshops and debates to youth delegates from across Europe.

Representatives of youth groups and road safety officials from all EU countries and neighbouring regions will participate. Organisations and personalities with an active role in road safety for young people are also invited.

The aims of the conference are to:

  • increase young people's awareness of road‑safety issues
  • give participants the opportunity to exchange views and propose practical steps – at national and regional level – to make young people safer on the road
  • promote EU road‑safety policies for young people
  • share best practices with the EU's neighbouring regions.
