The new 2012 UNAIDS report Together we will end AIDS is being launched today ahead of the XIX International AIDS Conference in Washington, DC, which is taking place from 22-27 July.
Together We Will End AIDS report launch and interactive discussion hosted by UNAIDS Executive Director.
18 July 2012, 10:30 EDT / 14:30 GMT / 16:30 CEST
The report contains the latest data on numbers of new HIV infections, numbers of people receiving antiretroviral treatment, AIDS-related deaths and HIV among children. It also highlights new scientific opportunities and social progress, and gives an overview of international and domestic HIV investments.
The report will be launched during a high-level interactive panel discussion held at the Newseum in Washington DC. AIDS 2012 represents a historic moment in the global AIDS response — for the first time in more than 20 years, the United States plays host to the largest international conference on HIV. At this critical juncture in the epidemic, UNAIDS will bring together some of today’s influential thought-leaders on HIV, global health and development to share insights into the HIV response: where we've come from, where we are today, and where we are going.
