Are you interested in learning about effective ways in which new media can help address the world’s challenges? By focusing on the UN’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) the second annual Social Good Summit celebrates the power and potential of new media to effect change.
Every September, the world’s leaders come together at the UN General Assembly in New York City for a series of high-level discussions. This year, Mashable, 92nd Street Y and the UN Foundation unite to include YOU in the conversation. The Social Good Summit, on Monday, September 20, will be one of the only major public UN Week events. Beginning a week of many questions, this innovative Summit is all about solutions.
Following the Summit, from Tuesday, September 21 to Friday, September 24, the same partners will host the UN Week Digital Media Lounge, a fully wired base for digital journalists, NGO representatives, and bloggers. The Digital Media Lounge will bring UN week to 92Y with in-person briefings from global leaders from governments, civil society, NGOs, the entertainment world, the private sector, and digital media and technology.
You can get involved and follow the Summit via livestream by RSVPing here. You will receive an email reminder 30 minutes before the Livestream of the event you’ve registered for so you can be a part of the conversation.
Organized by Mashable, 92Y and in partnership with the United Nations Foundation, the Summit is where big ideas meet new media to create innovative solutions.
