Campaign: What about HIV?

Over 3000 young people are infected with HIV every day. Only 1 in 3 young people have full knowledge of how HIV is transmitted.

UNAIDS together with a broad network of young HIV activists have launched a campaign called #Whatabout HIV? The campaign was established at the Global Youth Summit on HIV in Bamako, Mali, where over 150 activists gathered and together made a call to action for world leaders ahead of the High Level Meeting on AIDS in June. They are hoping that young and 'old' HIV activists alike will endorse this call to action and share it widely.

“What about HIV” is a global movement of young social and HIV activists, entrepreneurs, peer educators and youth ambassadors representing over 70 nations. It is a vibrant network, a new generation of young activists committed to creating a world with zero new infections, zero discrimination and zero AIDS-related deaths.

You can add your name to their Call to Action ahead of the World leaders meeting on AIDS at UN headquarters in New York on 8-10 June 2011.
