INVITATION TO THE PRESS
On 26 February, Eurojust and the UNODC will sign a Memorandum of Understanding to at improve judicial cooperation and, as such, increasing the fight against crime and in particular serious crime.
This Memorandum of Understanding demonstrates the commitment of Eurojust and UNODC to increase their sphere of cooperation. Both organisations are aiming at improved judicial cooperation and this Memorandum of Understanding represents a further step in the ever-increasing global cooperation in the fight against serious forms of trans-national crime.
This Memorandum of Understanding will be signed by Mr Antonio Maria Costa, Executive Director UNODC, and Ms Michèle Coninsx, Vice-President and Acting President of Eurojust.
A high-level representation from the Spanish Presidency will be present to witness the signing ceremony.
The signing ceremony will take place in the context of the Council of Europe’s JHA meeting on Friday 26 February at 12:00 in the main press room of the Justus Lipsius building.
Afterwards, there will be a press conference by the representation from the Spanish Presidency, Mr Antonio Maria Costa and Ms Michèle Coninsx.
