Seminar and lecture with Radhika Coomaraswamy, Brussels, 1 February 2010
UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict will give lectures and interact with the audience at two separate events in Brussels:
- On Monday 1 February 2010, during a lunch seminar (12h30-14h00) on ‘Children and Armed Conflict: International Concerns and Interventions’, at Egmont I Room DV01.
- On Monday 1 February 2010, during an evening lecture and debate (18h00-19h00) on ‘Child Soldiers: Understanding Root Causes and Fighting Impunity’ at The Residence Palace, Polak room.

On 2 February 2010, the University of Leuven is awarding her an honorary doctorate “as a special expression of appreciation and recognition for the important role she plays, both in her home country as well as internationally, in defending the rights of women and children”. She was nominated by Prof. Dr. Jan Wouters, Director of the “Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies”.
