State of the World's Children Report 2013 - Brussels

sowcr-bxlWhat: UNICEF's Launch of the State of the World's Children Report 2013: Children with Disabilities, Thursday 30 May, 15:00  - 17:00.

In the Presence of HRH Princess Mathilde of Belgium, Honorary President, UNICEF Belgium.

Children with disabilities have the same rights and needs as all children. They have the same rights as others – among these, the right to life and to the opportunities that flow from good health care, nutrition and education, the right to express their views and participate in making decisions, and the right to enjoy equal protection under the law.

This year's ' The State of the World's Children Report 2013: Children with Disabilities ' will provide an excellent occasion to discuss the children with disability rights mainstreaming in EU internal and external policies as well as the challenges and opportunities provided by the EU's ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

A good understanding of the issue is therefore needed in order for policy makers to make sound decisions and policies to protect bees.

For this reason, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech (ULg), BeeOdiversity, and the Bees Biodiversity Network (France) are pleased to organise the 2nd European Week of Bees and Pollination through the support of Gaston Franco (Member of European Parliament).
