AidEx 2014

12-13 November 2014, Hall 11, Brussels Expo, Belgieplein - 1 - Place de Belgique, B-1020 Brussels, Belgium

AidEx is a major international conference and exhibition for humanitarian and development professionals of all stripes. Held annually in Brussels, we bring together different voices whether they be NGO fieldworkers, the public and private sectors, long-established thought leaders or brand new start-ups.

We encourage organisations to network with one another, connect with suppliers and attend topical sessions to facilitate discussions on the current challenges they face. It’s also a great place to establish important, durable business relationships. Find out who will be crowned king or queen of Aid Innovation and who will win the coveted Humanitarian Hero of the Year Award at our prestigious awards ceremonies.

This year the theme will be ‘Innovation in Aid & Development’. Dialogue sessions will be held with experts to question and understand what innovation is, whether its application is feasible in the aid and development arena and where future trends will lead us.

Saving and Improving Children's Lives: Can Innovation Deliver?

UNICEF-Activat-Talk-11-Nov The-Promise-of-Innovation-FIN-1

November 11 | 12:30 - 14:00 PM
European Parliament, Room: ASP 1E3

Emerging technologies and social innovations have changed our lives like never before. How can we leverage them for children in the developing world and in humanitarian crises? Every day 17.000 children under the age of 5 die from causes we mostly know to prevent - and millions live in extreme poverty, without access to opportunities, protection, or ways to make their voices heard. Can we find new, more effective ways to deliver assistance, to create opportunities, and to bring about equitable development?

Preceding the 25th Anniversary of Convention of the Rights of the Child on 20 November 2014 and the launch of UNICEF’s flag ship State of the World’s Children report on innovation, the European Parliament’s Committee on Development and UNICEF Brussels are inviting to an Activate Talk at the European Parliament.

An access badge to enter the European Parliament can be requested with an email to Mr. Jonathan Bahati - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it - stating your Name, Date of Birth, Nationality and ID Number.
