This workshop will be introduced by Linda McAvan, MEP, and the WHO Regional Office for Europe.
The seminar will offer a review of the scientific evidence on effectiveness of key measures to reduce smoking, with special reference to the issues addressed by the revision of the EU Tobacco Products Directive (WHO).
A roundtable discussion will then focus on "Learning from doing – evidence from practice": with the experience of Turkey (Prof Akdag), Brazil (Dr. Vera da Costa e Silva), the European Commission and and the Smoke Free Partnership.
Reactions from Members of the European Parliament and the Tobacco Products Directive Shadow Rapporteurs will be welcomed at the end of the workshop
