Background on Ms Manzi:
Barbara Manzi, an Italian national, has been serving with OCHA since 1998 in several countries affected by natural or man-made disasters both during the emergency phase as well as transition to recovery and development, including in Angola, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, Sri Lanka and Haiti. Throughout her career, she has managed programmes and supported coordination, including in complex programs with multi-donor funding and multi organizational implementation set-up. This includes supporting Governments in responding to emergencies, working with NGOs, donors, and the UN to ensure that the impact of limited resources available was maximized, and duplication of interventions avoided, in order to better serve the affected population.
