The event will bring together high-level policymakers and experts from Brussels-based multilateral and bilateral agencies, member states and think tanks to share their views and perspectives on how Africa can put an end to chronic food insecurity in Africa and build a food secure future for all Africans.
UNDP will present to the audience, the first Africa Human Development Report, which proposes four areas of public action: raising agricultural productivity, meeting the nutrition challenge, building resilience and managing risks, and increasing empowerment. Different countries will need to focus on different aspects of these broad policy areas, but combined they can chart a course for the continent towards enhanced food security and a development process that is inclusive and sustainable.
Participants will have an opportunity to share their experiences, perspectives and approaches under the Chatham House Rule.
