Millennium International Documentary Film Festival, 17 April - 5 May

How do young people live and what challenges they face in the beginning of this new millennium ? How do they see their future ? How do they build their identity while major changes occur in society ?

The topic has imposed itself for the 4th edition of the Millenium Documentary Film Festival which runs from 17 April to 5 May. The Festival has received many films tracing the portraits and picturing the destiny of children all around the world – China, Africa, Russia, India, Latin America and Europe.

Youth have always been an indicator of the health of a society. And today it is in distress, confronted by the disruption of traditional social structures. Young people are massively exposed to multiple and frequent crises whose consequences we now endure.

In such a context, the independent filmmaker is the engine that highlights an emergency situation before it is too late. The movies selected for the festival compel us to get under the skin of these youngsters. They are innovative in the way they create characters and represent reality. The filmmakers use techniques from fiction movies but the stories are real and have the power of true human narratives that fiction movies cannot reach.

YOUTH ! They are the main focus of this 4th edition of the Millenium Documentary Film Festival. Genuine stories that will shake and inspire us, reveal characters simultaneously strong and weak seeking identity and fighting for a better fate. Their remarkable destiny are the core on our thinking of the Millennium Goals of tomorrow.
