European Women’s Lobby (EWL) in partnership with UNRIC and UN WOMEN Brussels Office invites you to the screening of:
'Not for Sale'
on Thursday, 27 October - 6:30pm at Harlan Levey Projects Gallery
To celebrate the EU Anti-Trafficking Day, the EWL presents the engaging documentary Not for Sale and invites EU Anti-trafficking Coordinator Myria Vassiliadou to discuss trafficking in women for sexual exploitation.
This event takes place around the exhibition of the finalists of the United Nations ad competition “No to Violence Against Women”.
The film challenges the traditional views and myths on prostitution and sexual exploitation of women's bodies. It includes interviews with women survivors of trafficking for sexual exploitation and prostitution, women sharing their life experiences and demanding governmental action and responsibility to combat violence against women, including trafficking and prostitution. “Not for Sale” was directed by Marie Vermeiren and produced by the joint CATW-EWL project on trafficking of women for sexual exploitation.
Before the film, the following speakers will introduce the session and discuss prostitution as violence against women, the links between prostitution and trafficking, and arguments against state decriminalization and legalization of prostitution:
Cécile Gréboval, Secretary General of the European Women’s Lobby
Myria Vassiliadou, EU Anti-Trafficking Coordinator
Marie Vermeiren, Director
The screening of ‘Not for Sale’ [23’] will be followed by a Q&A with the speakers.
The film will be screened in English.
