The United Nations in partnership with the Goethe Institute invites you to the screening of ONLY WHEN I DANCE on Tuesday, 22 February 2011, 6:30 p.m.
Beadie Finzi's documentary "Only When I Dance", billed as a Brazilian Billy Elliot, follows two teenagers from rough, working-class Brazilian neighborhoods who aspire to the heights of ballet. "Only When I Dance" is the extraordinary story of a girl and a boy, chasing a seemingly impossible dream. Dance is their passion, and their dream is to dance their way out of the favelas of Rio.
The film documents their journey through the pressures and prejudices of the professional world of dance.
The film will be followed by a Q & A session with Beadie Finzi (Director "Only When I Dance") and Jan Jarab (Regional Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Brussels) Janos Tisovszky, UNRIC Deputy Director, will moderate the discussion.
There is no entrance fee, but as places are limited, we kindly ask you to register in advance by sending an e-mail with the subject “CINE-ONU” to:
