Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (SRSG) on Sexual Violence in Conflict

From 8 to 10 September, UN SRSG Margot Wallström will be visiting Brussels for meetings with the EU institutions and the Belgian Government.

On 9 September, Ms. Wallström will give one of the keynote speeches at the seminar organised by the Belgian EU presidency on the 10th Anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325: Ensuring Women’s participation in Peace and Security.

SRSG Wallström is ready to brief interested media on her visit to Brussels, on her presentation to the Security Council on Tuesday 7 September, and to give an update on the DRC situation and the UN response after the rape and assault of at least 200 Congolese civilians in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Timing for one-on-one or small group of journalists interviews.
