WeFeedback - social networking for social good: in an effort to encourage individuals to help feed tens of thousands of hungry children across the world, the United Nations World Food Programme(WFP) has created a social media platform through which people can share their favourite meals by making donations to the agency.
The Internet portal engages supporters through an online “Feedback Calculator” that helps them to work out how many children they could feed if they donated the equivalent cost of a favourite food item such as sushi, ice cream or a hot dog.
The Brussels based United Nations Regional Information Centre for Western Europe - UNRIC provides information on UN activities to the countries of the region. It also provides liaison with institutions of the European Union in the field of information. Its outreach activities extend to all segments of society and joint campaigns, projects and events are organized with partners including the EU, governments, the media, NGOs, schools and local authorities.
