2012
2012 begins with a film to mark the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust – “The Last Flight of Petr Ginz” - a documentary of celebration as well as tragedy, a testament to how a boy’s wonder and creative expression represent the best of what makes us human.
During the next few months we are planning to highlight the UN’s campaign on the preservation and management of water in the run up to Rio+20 (The Future we Want: Drop by Drop) with a film on ocean debris called “Plastic Shores” to be screened on 22 March.
2012 is the year of Sustainable Energy for All and we are planning to screen a wonderful film about built-in obsolescence on 24 April called “The Lighbulb Conspiracy”.
Watch this space for events planned for International Women’s Day, World Environment Day and UN Peacekeepers Day. We will keep you posted.
